– EXPLAINING THE FIRST MISCELLANEOUS RECITATION SECTION
1. THE PROCEDURE FOR FULL ORDINATION.
Within the five years following the Blessed One's attainment of enlightenment, the monastic Saṅgha was entirely pure; however, from that time onward, it gradually became non-Dhamma. Therefore, the Blessed One, in accordance with circumstances, established the precept code comprising four types of full ordination: 1. Self-ordination; 2. "Well-come" ordination; 3. Ordination by a quorum of ten; 4. Ordination by a quorum of five.
