When the great bodhisattva gives various kinds of vehicles—vehicles made of gold, silver, and the seven treasures, drawn by horses or elephants and adorned with pearls and precious objects—as offerings to the Buddhas or to shrines and stupas dedicated to the Buddhas, he dedicates this merit as follows:
May all beings know how to make offerings to the unsurpassed fields of merit and firmly believe that offerings to the Buddhas bring immeasurable rewards. May all beings single-mindedly turn toward the Buddhas and always encounter immeasurable pure fields of merit. May all beings be free from stinginess toward the Tathagatas and fully perfect the mind of great relinquishment.
May all beings practice generosity in the presence of the Buddhas, leave behind the mind of the Two Vehicles, and attain the Tathagatas’ unobstructed liberation of omniscience. May all beings practice inexhaustible giving in the presence of the Buddhas and enter the Buddhas’ immeasurable merit and wisdom. May all beings enter the Buddhas’ supreme wisdom and become unsurpassed, pure kings of wisdom.
May all beings attain the Buddhas’ unobstructed supernormal powers and freely go wherever they wish. May all beings deeply enter the Great Vehicle, attain immeasurable wisdom, and abide immovably. May all beings be able to produce the Dharma of omniscience and become unsurpassed fields of merit for humans and devas.
May all beings harbor no malice or resentment in the presence of the Buddhas, diligently cultivate roots of goodness, and delight in seeking the wisdom of the Buddhas. May all beings naturally be able to travel to every Buddha-land and, in a single instant, journey throughout the dharma realm without weariness. May all beings attain the bodhisattvas’ sovereign supernormal powers, manifest bodies throughout the dharma realm, draw near to all Buddhas, and make offerings to them.
May all beings attain incomparable bodies that travel throughout the ten directions without weariness or dissatisfaction. May all beings attain vast bodies that fly swiftly, go wherever they wish, and never become indolent or delayed. May all beings attain the ultimate sovereign might of the Buddhas and, in a single instant, manifest the Buddhas’ supernormal transformations throughout the realm of space.
May all beings cultivate practices of peace and happiness in accord with every bodhisattva path. May all beings swiftly and ultimately practice the wisdom and supernormal powers of the Ten Powers. May all beings enter the dharma realm everywhere and equally.
May all beings never regress from Samantabhadra’s practices, reach the other shore, and attain omniscience. May all beings ascend to the stage of incomparable wisdom, accord with the Dharma-nature, and perceive ultimate truth. When offering vehicles to the Buddhas or to shrines and stupas dedicated to the Buddhas, the great bodhisattva thus dedicates his roots of goodness because he wishes beings to attain the ultimate, unobstructed liberation of the Buddha Vehicle.
When giving various kinds of vehicles to bodhisattvas and spiritual benefactors, the great bodhisattva dedicates his roots of goodness as follows:
May all beings always remember the teachings of spiritual benefactors, diligently preserve them, and never forget them. May all beings obtain the same benefits as spiritual benefactors, universally gather everyone, and share the same roots of goodness. May all beings draw near to spiritual benefactors, honor and make offerings to them, and relinquish all their possessions in order to follow their wishes.
May all beings acquire wholesome aspirations and never part from good friends. May all beings constantly encounter spiritual benefactors, respectfully serve them, and never disobey their teachings. May all beings cherish spiritual benefactors, never leave them or become estranged from them, and never transgress against them.
May all beings be able to offer their bodies to spiritual benefactors, submit to their direction, and never oppose them. May all beings be gathered in by spiritual benefactors through sovereign great loving-kindness and abandon evil. May all beings follow spiritual benefactors and hear the true Dharma taught by the Buddhas.
May all beings share with spiritual benefactors the same roots of goodness and the same pure karmic fruit, share the practices and vows of the bodhisattvas, and ultimately attain the Ten Powers. May all beings be able to receive and retain the Dharma of spiritual benefactors and attain all samadhis, wisdom, and supernormal powers. May all beings be able to receive and retain all true Dharma, cultivate its practices, and reach the other shore.
May all beings ride the Great Vehicle without obstruction and ultimately accomplish the path of omniscience. May all beings board the vehicle of omniscience and reach a secure place from which there is no regression. May all beings know practices as they truly are, fully comprehend whatever Buddhadharma they hear, and never forget or lose any of it.
May all beings be gathered in by the Buddhas and attain unobstructed wisdom. May all beings attain sovereign supernormal powers and, whenever they wish to go somewhere, arrive there as soon as they think of it. May all beings travel freely, teach and transform beings everywhere, and cause them all to abide in the Great Vehicle.
May all beings never practice in vain but be conveyed by the vehicle of wisdom to the ultimate stage. May all beings attain the unobstructed vehicle and use unobstructed wisdom to reach every place. When giving vehicles to spiritual benefactors, the great bodhisattva thus dedicates his roots of goodness because he wishes all beings to possess merit equal to that of the Buddhas and bodhisattvas.
When the bodhisattva gives precious vehicles to the Sangha, he immediately gives rise to the resolve to learn every practice of generosity; a mind of wisdom that skillfully understands; a mind of pure merit; a mind that accords with the practice of relinquishment; a mind that recognizes the rarity of the precious Sangha; a mind of deep faith in the precious Sangha; and a mind that gathers and upholds the true Dharma. Abiding in an excellent and unprecedented aspiration, he conducts a great assembly of giving, produces immeasurable and vast merit, and deeply trusts the Buddhadharma, which cannot be obstructed or destroyed. He dedicates these roots of goodness as follows:
May all beings universally enter the Buddhadharma, remember it, and never forget it. May all beings leave behind the ways of foolish ordinary people and enter the company of sages and saints. May all beings quickly enter the community of the noble ones and be able to teach the Buddhadharma in proper sequence.

May all beings be born from the realm of the Tathagatas’ wisdom, with all gentle and compliant persons as their retinue.
May all beings abide in the undefiled Dharma and eliminate every defilement and affliction. May all beings accomplish the unsurpassed precious Sangha, leave the ranks of ordinary beings, and enter the ranks of the noble ones. May all beings diligently cultivate wholesome dharmas, attain unobstructed wisdom, and possess unsurpassed merit.
May all beings attain minds of wisdom unattached to the world and be as sovereign as kings amid assemblies. May all beings ride the vehicle of wisdom and turn the wheel of the true Dharma. May all beings possess supernormal powers and, within a single thought, travel to ineffably ineffable worlds.

May all beings attain inconceivable sovereign supernormal powers and appear before those who should be liberated in order to teach, transform, and discipline them.
May all beings attain unobstructed skillful means, enter the dharma realm, and in a single thought travel throughout the lands of the ten directions. When giving precious vehicles to the Sangha, the great bodhisattva thus dedicates his roots of goodness because he wishes beings all to ride the unsurpassed vehicle of pure wisdom and turn the wheel of unobstructed wisdom throughout every world.
When the great bodhisattva gives precious vehicles to shravakas and pratyekabuddhas, he gives rise to thoughts of fields of merit, merit, and reverence; a mind that produces merit and wisdom; a mind born from the power of the Tathagata’s merit; a mind cultivated over hundreds of thousands of kotis of nayutas of kalpas; a mind capable of cultivating bodhisattva practices for ineffable kalpas; a mind liberated from all the bonds of Mara; a mind that destroys all the armies of Mara; and a mind whose light of wisdom clearly illuminates the unsurpassed Dharma.

May all beings manifest immeasurable sovereign supernormal powers and use pure fields of merit to gather in all sentient beings. May all beings fully possess inexhaustible merit as fields of merit and be able to bestow upon beings the supreme fruit of the Buddha Vehicle.

May all beings attain the Dharma that extinguishes offenses and fully receive and retain the meanings of phrases in the Buddhadharma that they have never heard before. May all beings constantly and diligently hear and receive all Buddhadharma and awaken to it all.

May all beings constantly encounter sages and saints and increase their most excellent roots of goodness.
May all beings always have minds of faith and delight in the wise, and dwell and rejoice together with saints and sages. May all beings skillfully discern and understand the Buddhadharma and be able to preserve and retain it all.
May all beings always delight in hearing all Buddhadharma, receiving, retaining, reading, reciting, and clearly elucidating it. May all beings faithfully understand the true merit of the Buddhadharma and relinquish all their possessions in order to honor it and make offerings to it. When giving precious vehicles to shravakas and pratyekabuddhas, the great bodhisattva thus dedicates his roots of goodness because he wishes beings all to accomplish the foremost pure wisdom and supernormal powers and, through diligent practice, attain the powers and fearlessnesses of wisdom.
The great bodhisattva gives precious vehicles even to the poor, destitute, orphaned, and solitary. Whatever they request, he gives them all. His heart is always joyful and never weary, and he tells them, “I should have personally brought these things and distributed them to you; I would not dare make you endure the trouble of coming to seek me.” He dedicates these roots of goodness as follows:
May all beings ride the vast, unobstructed, irreversible vehicle of the Dharma wheel and proceed directly to the inconceivable Bodhi tree. May all beings ride the great vehicle of pure Dharma-wisdom and forever cultivate the irreversible bodhisattva path. May all beings shelter themselves with peaceful, wholesome dharmas and ultimately never impair the Buddhadharma. May all beings skillfully shelter their own bodies and ultimately attain the pure Dharma-body.
May all beings become vast canopies that cover the world through the Ten Powers of wisdom. May all beings attain wondrous wisdom that is never defiled or attached. May all beings attain the canopy of one worthy of offerings, become fields of merit, and receive every offering.
May all beings attain the supreme canopy and attain unsurpassed wisdom through natural awakening. Disciples of the Buddha! The great bodhisattva sees beings seized by evildoers, shackled and chained in dark prisons, suffering unbearably with no one to rescue them. He then gives up his wealth, wife, and children, even his own body, and enters the prison to rescue those beings, as did the Bodhisattva Great Compassion and the Bodhisattva King Wondrous Eyes. Having rescued them, he supplies everything they need and enables them to dwell in peace and security.
