RULE 12
Whichever bhikkhunī, whichever bhikkhu, keeps an almsbowl with fewer than five mends that does not leak, yet seeks to obtain a new bowl out of a desire for something finer—nissaggiya pācittiya.
That bhikkhunī should go before the Saṅgha to relinquish it; then, proceeding in order down to the lowest bowl, that bowl is to be handed to this bhikkhunī with the words: "You are to keep this bowl until it is broken." That is the proper procedure.
