4. PRECEPT: THE GREAT FALSE SPEECH.
—If a bhikkhunī, not yet knowing, not yet clearly understanding, falsely claims for herself a superhuman attainment, a distinguished knowledge and vision worthy of a noble one, saying that she sees thus and knows thus, and then afterward, whether examined or not examined regarding the transgression, wishing to be purified, speaks as follows: "Venerable one, not knowing, I said I knew; not seeing, I said I saw. That was an empty and false statement"—then this bhikkhunī has committed a Pārājika offense and is not permitted to live together with the community of bhikkhunīs; except in the case of overweening conceit.
