What is this season?

Many Buddhist families open the new year with the sūtras, reading or chanting one text on New Year's Day; in the Northern tradition the first day of the year is also Maitreya's day. This path gives the last six days of the old year to looking back, making amends, family and living fully today, then opens the new year with the discourse on true blessings. From the second day, a path of peace continues to the first full moon.
