When this dharani was proclaimed, all those Buddhas, the World-Honored Ones, praised it, saying:

"Excellent, excellent, Good Man! Only now have you proclaimed such a profound dharani.

If anyone receives, upholds, reads, and recites this dharani and constantly reflects upon it extensively, those Buddhas, the World-Honored Ones, will always fulfill the wishes of this good man."

At that time, Tathagata Fragrant Radiance manifested a broad and long tongue that covered the entire three-thousand-great-thousand world system. He then addressed seventy-seven nayutas of bodhisattvas, saying:

"If any good man or good woman receives, upholds, reads, and recites the phrases of this dharani and makes offerings according to their ability, those Buddhas, the World-Honored Ones, will fulfill every wish sought in their hearts."

At that time, Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Awakening the Teaching said to Tathagata Fragrant Radiance:

"World-Honored One! How should they make offerings to those Buddha-Tathagatas?"

When he had spoken these words, the World-Honored One said to Bodhisattva Awakening the Teaching:

"Good man! If someone has newly generated the resolve to practice the bodhisattva path and wishes to fulfill all aspirations, then at daybreak that person should take the dung of a black cow and smear it over a clean plot of ground to make a Dharma altar. According to one's ability, one should also make offerings of incense and flowers and remain apart from worldly affairs. Three times by day and three times by night, one should recite the names of those Buddha Tathagatas and chant that dharani; one will then immediately perceive all dharmas.
