GREAT MANDALA OF THE VAJRA REALM
VAIROCANA, THE SECRET MIND-GROUND MUDRAS AND MANTRAS OF ALL TATHAGATAS: KARMA SECTION (Second)
Homage to the Blessed One,
Great Vairocana,
Who, for the Sovereign Lord,
Expounds the Vajra Realm,
Its karmas and ritual procedures,
Mudras and mantras,
For making offerings to the Tathagatas.
Next form the Karma Mudra
At the heart and cultivate it.
Clearly contemplate the moon disk at the heart,
And then the karma vajras.
One should form the Vajra Fist;
From meditative equipoise, separate it in two.
With the right hand in the Vajra Fist,
Grasp the tip of the Strength finger (left index finger).
Place the left fist at the waist,
And lower the right hand to touch the earth.
The left fist remains as before;
The right hand makes the boon-granting gesture.
Turn both hands upward and interlace them;
Extend Progress and Strength (the two index fingers), their backs together,
With Meditation and Wisdom (the two thumbs) across their tips.
Again place the left fist at the waist;
The right hand grants fearlessness.
These are the mudras of the Five Tathagatas.
Their respective mantras are:
1) Aùn_ Phộc Nhật La Đà Đổ, Noan
OMÏ _ VAJRADHÀTU VAMÏ

Next form the karma mudras,
The mudras of the Four Paramitas.
Each is like the mudra of its corresponding Buddha;
Then recite the mantras.

According to the Karma Mudra ritual.
Place the right fist beside the waist;
With the right hand, draw and cast the vajra.
Cross the two fists and embrace the chest;
Bend Progress and Strength (the two index fingers) into hooks of summoning.
Hold the two fists as in archery,
Place them across the heart, and snap the fingers.
Make Progress and Strength (the two index fingers) like a precious vase;
At the heart, turn the solar disk.
Rest the right elbow upon the left fist;
Turn the mouths of both fists upward and open them.
The left is a lotus; the right opens its petals.
Visualize the left hand holding a flower,
And the right hand holding a sword.
Turn the fists downward and raise Progress and Strength (the two index fingers);
At the navel, turn them horizontally.
Bring them to the mouth, turn upward, and open;
First extend Meditation and Wisdom (the two thumbs).
Dance and circle at the heart and both cheeks.
Place the Vajra Palms at the crown;
With both fists, don the armor.
Progress and Strength (the two index fingers), Generosity and Wisdom (the two little fingers), form fangs;
Bring the two fists together.
These are the mudras of the Sixteen Great Beings.
The inner and outer groups are the Eight Offerings,
Together with the Four Great Protectors.
Their mudra forms will now be explained.
Place both fists beside the waist,
Turn to the left and incline the head slightly.
With both fists, bind the flower garland;
From the forehead to behind the crown, open them.
Join both fists side by side;
From the navel to the mouth, open them.
Move the two fists as in a dance, circling, then place the palms at the crown.
Use the rite of the Vajra Palms.
