19.16. The Headless Robber
Vi-n 1Here, friend, as I was descending Mount Gujjhakùta, I saw a headless body traveling through the air. Its eyes and mouth were on its chest.
Vi-n 2Vultures, crows, and hawks pursued it, pecking and tearing at it, while it cried out in pain.
Vi-n 3That being, bhikkhus, was a robber named Hàrika here in Rājagaha .
This collection was translated into Vietnamese by Venerable Thích Minh Châu and published by Vạn Hạnh Monastery in the early 1980s . Later, as part of the translation and publication program for the Vietnamese Buddhist Canon, the collection was reprinted in 1993 and assigned sequence numbers 12 through 16.
