The Supreme Way is not difficult

For one who holds no preferences

Only cease loving and hating

And it becomes lucid and clear

A hair's breadth of deviation

And it is as far apart as heaven and earth

If you wish to attain it manifest before you

Hold to neither the agreeable nor the adverse

When the agreeable and the adverse contend with each other

This is the sickness of the mind

Not understanding the profound deep meaning

It is useless to cultivate stillness of thought

Perfect and complete, the same as great emptiness

Lacking nothing and having nothing in excess

Because of grasping and letting go

It is therefore not Thusness

Do not chase after circumstances and conditions

Do not abide in the patience of emptiness

The One Kind, even and impartial

Of itself dissolves into oblivion

Stop movement and return to stillness

And that stillness grows yet more agitated

While still caught at the two extremes

How can you understand the One Kind?

When the One Kind does not penetrate

In both places the function is lost

Banish being and you fall into being

Follow emptiness and you turn your back on emptiness

Much talking and much thinking

Turn into nonaccord

Cut off speech, cut off thought

And there is nowhere it does not penetrate

Return to the root and attain the meaning

Pursue the reflections and lose the source

For but a single instant of inner reflection

You surpass the emptiness that lay before

The transformations of that former emptiness

Are all seen through deluded thinking

There is no need to seek the real

Only put an end to fixed views

Do not abide in dualistic views

Take care not to pursue and search them out

The moment right and wrong arise

The mind is at once lost in confusion

The two come forth from the one

Yet even the one is not to be kept

When a single thought does not arise

The ten thousand dharmas are without fault

Without fault, without dharmas

Without arising, that is without mind

The mind perishes along with the object

The object sinks away along with the mind

The object appears because the mind arises

The mind arises because the object appears

Know that these two

Are originally of the one emptiness

The one emptiness, the same as both

Embracing all the ten thousand forms

Seeing neither the beautiful nor the ugly

How could there be any preference?

The Great Way embraces all things

Neither easy nor difficult

Those of shallow understanding doubt

The more they hurry, the more they fall behind

In clinging, they lose all judgment

The mind then enters the deviant path

Let go into the natural

The essential nature neither abides nor departs

Accord with the nature and you merge with the Way

Roaming free, severing affliction

Binding thought runs counter to the real

Dullness and torpor are no good either

Do not wish to waste your spirit and energy

Why turn by turns to loving and hating?

If you wish to enter deeply the One Vehicle

Do not detest the six dusts

When the six dusts give rise to no evil

Reversed, they are the same as Right Enlightenment

The wise abide in nonaction

The foolish bind themselves

Dharmas are not differently divided

It is the deluded mind that clings of itself

To use the mind to seek the mind

Is this not a mistake?

In delusion arises calm and turmoil

In awakening there is no good or bad

All the dualistic dharmas

Issue forth from empty delusion

Dreams, illusions, flowers in the sky

How are they worthy of being seized?

Gain and loss, right and wrong

Cast them all away at once

If the eyes do not close in sleep

The dreams will be dispelled of themselves

If the mind does not discriminate

The ten thousand dharmas are One Thusness

The substance of the One Thusness, profound and wondrous

All conditions are forgotten

Contemplate the ten thousand dharmas as impartial

And they return to the natural

When the ten thousand dharmas vanish away

There is nothing to compare

Stop movement and there is no more movement

Set motion in stillness and there is no more rest

Since the two are not established

How could there be a one?

Examine the ultimate and the utmost

And no rule remains in existence

Open wide the impartial mind

And all activity comes to rest

Doubts are all cleansed away

Right faith, the heart made upright

Nothing remains to cling to

Nothing remains to remember

The mind is empty and shines of itself

There is no need for toil and effort

It is not a place for reckoning

Consciousness and feeling cannot fathom it

For in the Dharma-realm of True Thusness

There is neither other nor self

If you wish to accord swiftly

Only practice nonduality

In nonduality all is one and the same

There is nothing it does not embrace

The wise of all the ten directions

All enter this principle

This principle is neither swift nor slow

A single thought encompasses ten thousand years

Not existing anywhere, yet everywhere

The ten directions appear before your eyes

The utterly small is the same as the great

When the realm of delusion is cut off

The utterly great is the same as the small

No boundary line is seen

What has a goal is truly empty

What has no goal is truly being

If it is not so

Surely there is no need to hold to it

The one is itself all

All is itself the one

If you are able to be thus

Why worry it will not be done?

Faith in the nondual mind

Nonduality is the mind of faith

The path of language is cut off

There is no past, future, or present
