廣大發願頌
Chinese title:廣大發願頌
For all classes of sentient beings
Through past, future, and present—none exhausted
And yet the lands of the Buddhas are truly vast
Boundless are those realms, beyond all telling
And further, each single mote of dust is a land
The Buddha-lands as numerous as dust-motes
In each of those places there abides a Buddha
As many as the sands and dust, I bow to all
Those dust-motes manifold beyond the Buddha-realms
Therein, Buddha upon Buddha, I extol
With single-hearted devotion I make offerings
Passing through kalpas as countless as fine dust
I pay homage to all the Buddhas and their assemblies
To the Three Jewels I forever take refuge
I shall bring forth the most precious flowers
And all things fine to present as offerings
If I have given rise to any transgressions
I now must repent of them entirely
If any of my faults have not yet arisen
From all of them I shall ever keep apart
And as for all the precious stores of merit
In those I shall forever take rejoicing
This merit I dedicate to sentient beings
Together with the supreme fruit of Buddha's Bodhi
As the Buddhas have proclaimed within the True Dharma
May my power of vow be firm and also true
May I forever make offerings to the World-Honored Ones
May I, in the very end, attain Buddhahood
May I, in life after life, possess deep wisdom
Ever like the Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī
With heart of loving-kindness, knowing suffering, saving the world
May I be like the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara
Samantabhadra, with loving tenderness, beholds all beings
May I be no different from Samantabhadra
With a mind of kindly goodness regarding every kind of being
May I forever be like the Venerable Maitreya
In giving, may my vow be like the treasury of empty space
In keeping precepts, may my vow be wisdom like spiritual power
Forbearance and diligence—these two gateways
May I forever be able to apply myself with zeal
May the power of concentration gather in all distractions
May I become like Vajrapāṇi
Skillfully proclaiming the Dharma-doors of the Ten Stages
In speaking wisdom, may my vow be like Vajragarbha
Before the Buddha, the World-Honored One, well to inquire
May I be like the one who removes obscurations
In profound mind and wisdom, both firm and steadfast
May I forever be like Firm Wisdom
With unobstructed spiritual powers and skillful means
May I become like Vimalakīrti
Skillfully aiding sentient beings in their roots of goodness
Ever diligent, may my vow be like one always valiant
Skillfully proclaiming the Dharma of the Pāramitās
May I become like Akṣayamati
Endowed with measureless and excellent sounds
May I be no different from the one of Wondrous Voice
Drawing near to good spiritual friends, the heart never wearied
I vow, in life after life, to be like Sudhana
Empty space cannot compare—well able to speak the Dharma
May I become like Ākāśagarbha
The earth that nurtures and sustains the whole of life
In universal benefit, may my vow be like the Venerable Kṣitigarbha
Forthwith removing the suffering of greed, benefiting sentient beings
May I be no different from the Treasury-Spirit Ratnagarbha
Bringing forth inexhaustible words of the wondrous Dharma-treasure
May I become like Dharmodgata
With firm wisdom and also ever diligent
May I be no different from the Venerable Sadāprarudita
These are the foremost among the Sons of the Buddha
Their supreme accumulation of merit is boundless
Their renown is vast and great, and also inexhaustible
May I proclaim a name even such as theirs
I now praise and extol the merits of the Buddhas
Supreme, victorious, wholesome, and exceedingly vast
I universally pray that all the sentient beings of the world
May abide within that most victorious merit.
