"False speech and its kinds,
Double-tongued, reviving old matters.
Cutting off life, teaching rules of syntax,
Claiming oneself to have attained the path.
Not yet qualified, speaking of grave offenses.
Obstructing, criticizing the precepts.
End of the first section.
Cutting trees, slandering people,
Finding fault, spreading out in an open place.
Dragging someone out of a room,
Using a bed with sharp legs.
Watering plants with water containing living creatures.
Causing others doubt and displeasure—
End of the second section.
Eating in many places in one day,
Giving a robe and then taking it back for one's own use.
Encouraging others to eat more,
Not accepting, eating at an improper time.
Keeping two or three bowls in reserve,
Hiding belongings, eating separately from the community.
End of the third section.
Lighting a fire, more than three nights,
Sending consent, then giving rise to anger.
Entering a village and then telling others to leave,
Not relinquishing wrong views.
Novices, three kinds of discolored cloth,
Taking valuables, causing terror.
End of the fourth section.
Drinking water with living creatures, non-Buddhist practitioners,
Sitting in a place of sexual conduct, a secluded place.
Observing troops for more than three nights,
Yakkhī and fighting.
Threatening to strike, playing in water—
End of the fifth section.
Pointing at each other, companions of bandits,
Digging the earth, inviting for four months.
Not following the training, drinking alcohol,
Disparaging others, listening in silence.
Handling affairs without lending an ear—
End of the sixth section.
Leaving the eating place, the royal palace.
A needle case, more than eight finger-breadths.
Cotton cloth and the sitting mat.
Covering sores, imitating the Buddha.
Criticizing the Saṅgha's remnants, embezzlement—
End of the seventh section.
