7.2
BJT 1121"Just as the Nandana Grove and the Cittalatā Grove, foremost and supreme gardens in the Heaven of the Thirty-Three, shine radiantly, so too does your celestial mansion, dwelling in the sky, blaze with similar brilliance.
BJT 1122You have attained the supernormal powers of the devas and possess great majesty. What meritorious deed did you perform when you were a human being? On account of what do you possess such majesty, blazing thus with splendor, and your complexion shining in all directions?"
BJT 1123That young deva rejoiced when questioned by the Venerable Moggallāna. Being asked the question, he explained which kamma this result belonged to:
BJT 1124"I, when I was a human being in the human realm, was a poor laborer, in difficulty, without refuge, and I supported my aged mother and father. And those who were virtuous were held dear by me; with a mind of pure faith, I reverently offered abundant gifts of food and drink.
BJT 1125On account of that, I have such a complexion. On account of that, this has been accomplished for me here. And on account of that, agreeable pleasures arise for me.
BJT 1126Venerable bhikkhu of great majesty, I have told you of the meritorious deed I performed when I was a human being. On account of that, I possess such majesty, blazing with splendor, and my complexion shines in all directions."
The Nandana Mansion.
