6.2
BJT 1055"Just as the Cittalatā garden, the foremost and supreme flower garden in the Heaven of the Thirty-Three, shines radiantly, so too does your heavenly mansion, dwelling in the sky, blaze with a similar brilliance.
BJT 1056You have attained the divine powers of the devas, endowed with great might. When you were a human being, what meritorious deed did you perform? By reason of what do you possess such might, blazing so brilliantly, and your complexion shining in all directions?"
BJT 1057That divine youth, rejoicing when questioned by Venerable Moggallāna, being asked the question, explained which kamma had brought about this fruit:
BJT 1058"In the human world, my wife and I lived as householders, as providers of material support. With faithful and serene minds, we respectfully offered gifts of abundant food and drink.
BJT 1059By reason of that, I have such a complexion. By reason of that, this has been accomplished for me here. And by reason of that, pleasurable enjoyments arise for me.
BJT 1060Venerable monk of great might, I have declared to you the meritorious deed I performed when I was a human being. By reason of that do I possess such might, blazing so brilliantly, and my complexion shines in all directions."
