4.11
BJT 820"O divine lady, you stand with a radiant complexion, causing all the directions to shine brilliantly, like the star Osadhī.
BJT 821By reason of what have you obtained such a complexion? By reason of what has this come to pass for you here? And by reason of what do agreeable pleasures arise for you?
BJT 822O divine lady of great might, I ask you: 'When you were a human being, what meritorious deed did you do? By reason of what do you have such power, shining with radiance, and your complexion illuminating all the directions?'"
BJT 823That divine lady, rejoicing when questioned by the Venerable Moggallāna, being asked the question, explained the deed of which this was the fruit:
BJT 824"I, when I was a human being in the human world, having seen monks of virtuous conduct, bowed down at their feet and made my mind full of serene confidence. Filled with inspiration, I joined my palms together.
BJT 825By reason of that, I have obtained such a complexion. By reason of that, this has come to pass for me here. And by reason of that, agreeable pleasures arise for me.
BJT 826Venerable monk of great might, I declare to you what I did when I was a human being. By reason of that, I have such power, shining with radiance, and my complexion illuminates all the directions."
