BJT 712"O goddess, you stand with a radiant complexion, causing all directions to shine brilliantly, like the star osadhī.
BJT 713By reason of what have you obtained such a complexion as this? By reason of what has this come to be accomplished for you here? And by reason of what do pleasant enjoyments arise for you?
BJT 714O goddess of great might, I ask you: 'When you were a human being, what meritorious deed did you perform? By reason of what do you have the might to shine so brilliantly, and your complexion illuminate all directions?'"
BJT 715That goddess, rejoicing when asked by the venerable Moggallāna, being questioned, explained which deed this result belonged to:
BJT 716"In Bārāṇasī, with faith, I with my own hands offered to the Buddha, the kinsman of the sun, a dry pastry cake.
BJT 717Behold the result of the dry pastry cake, without salt. Having seen Alomā enjoying happiness, who would not perform meritorious deeds?
BJT 718By reason of that, I have obtained such a complexion as this. By reason of that, this has come to be accomplished for me here. And by reason of that, pleasant enjoyments arise for me.
BJT 719Venerable monk of great might, I have declared to you what I did when I was a human being. By reason of that, I have the might to shine so brilliantly, and my complexion illuminates all directions."
