BJT 204-205"O woman of supreme intelligence, upon your head you wear a garland of many flowers of the mandārava tree; these trees are not found among other assemblies of the gods. They are adorned with stamens of many shades of varied color: blue, yellow, black, and purple, and then bright red.
BJT 206O lady of renowned fame, through what deed have you been reborn in the Heaven of the Thirty-Three? O divine nymph, having been asked, may you recount of which karma this result is the fruit?"
BJT 207"I was known as 'Bhadditthī,' a female lay devotee in the city of Kimbilā, endowed with faith and virtuous conduct, always delighting in the act of sharing.
BJT 208With a pure mind, I gave clothing, food, lodgings, and lamps to upright persons.
BJT 209On the fourteenth day, the fifteenth day, the eighth day of each fortnight, and on the special additional days of the fortnight, there was the excellent undertaking of the eight factors — the eight precepts.
BJT 210I observed the Uposatha day, ever restrained in the precepts. I dwelt in a mansion with self-restraint and with generosity.
BJT 211I refrained from the taking of life, and was restrained regarding false speech, theft, misconduct, and I kept away from the drinking of intoxicants.
BJT 212I took delight in the five training rules, being one who understood the Noble Truths — a female lay devotee of the renowned Gotama of the Eye.
BJT 213And I offered food to the bhikkhus, those who had compassion for the highest benefit, to the two great wise ascetics — Sāriputta and Moggallāna. Having established a dwelling, having done good deeds, dying from that place, I wander in Nandana with a radiance of my own.
BJT 214I regularly observed the Uposatha day with eight factors, bringing boundless happiness. Having established a dwelling, having done good deeds, dying from that place, I wander in Nandana with a radiance of my own."
