2.34. Isidinna

BJT 187“I have seen lay followers who remember the Dhamma and say, ‘Sensual pleasures are impermanent,’ yet remain attached to earrings set with maṇi gems and yearn for their children and wives.

BJT 188“They truly do not understand the Dhamma according to its nature. Though they say, ‘Sensual pleasures are impermanent,’ they lack the strength to cut off attachment; therefore they remain bound to wives, children, and possessions.”

The venerable elder Isidinna spoke these verses thus.
