471. {474.} Sumanavījaniya
Walt 4981 With a fan covered in jasmine,
I fanned the superb Bodhi at
the foot of the superb Bodhi
of Vipassi, the Blessed One. Verse 1
Walt 4982 In the eleven aeons since
I fanned that superb Bodhi tree ,
I’ve come to know no bad rebirth:
that is the fruit of a fanning. Verse 2
Walt 4983 My defilements are now burnt up;
all new existence is destroyed.
Like elephants with broken chains,
I am living without constraint. Verse 3
Walt 4984 Being in Best Buddha’s presence
was a very good thing for me.
The three knowledges are attained;
I have done what the Buddha taught! Verse 4
Walt 4985 The four analytical modes,
and these eight deliverances,
six special knowledges mastered,
I have done what the Buddha taught! Verse 5
Thus indeed Venerable Sumanavījaniya Thera spoke these verses.
The legend of Sumanavījaniya Thera is finished.
