460. {463.} Citakanibbāpaka
Walt 4874 When the corpse was being burnt of
Vessabhu Buddha , the Great Sage,
taking sweetly- scented water,
I put out the funeral pyre. Verse 1
Walt 4875 In the thirty-one aeons since
I put out that funeral pyre,
I’ve come to know no bad rebirth:
that’s the fruit of scented water. Verse 2
Walt 4876 My defilements are now burnt up;
all new existence is destroyed.
Like elephants with broken chains,
I am living without constraint. Verse 3
Walt 4877 Being in Best Buddha’s presence
was a very good thing for me.
The three knowledges are attained;
I have done what the Buddha taught! Verse 4
Walt 4878 The four analytical modes,
and these eight deliverances,
six special knowledges mastered,
I have done what the Buddha taught! Verse 5
Thus indeed Venerable Citakanibbāpaka Thera spoke these verses.
The legend of Citakanibbāpaka Thera is finished.
