438. {441.} Vibhīṭakamiñjaya
Walt 4717 Kakusandha, the Great Hero,
was a Master of Everything.
Alienated from the group,
he went into the forest then . Verse 1
Walt 4718 Having gathered numerous seeds,
I strung them on a piece of vine.
At that time the Blessed One was
meditating on a mountain. Verse 2
Walt 4719 Having seen the God of Gods, I,
with a mind that was very clear,
presented all those seeds to him ,
the Hero, Deserving of Gifts. Verse 3
Walt 4720 Within the present aeon, since
I gave that fruit to him back then,
I’ve come to know no bad rebirth:
that’s the fruit of numerous seeds. Verse 4
Walt 4721 My defilements are now burnt up;
all new existence is destroyed.
Like elephants with broken chains,
I am living without constraint. Verse 5
Walt 4722 Being in Best Buddha’s presence
was a very good thing for me.
The three knowledges are attained;
I have done what the Buddha taught! Verse 6
Walt 4723 The four analytical modes,
and these eight deliverances,
six special knowledges mastered,
I have done what the Buddha taught! Verse 7
Thus indeed Venerable Vibhīṭakamiñjaya Thera spoke these verses.
The legend of Vibhīṭakamiñjaya Thera is finished.
