– The Legends of the Theras

360. {363.} Bhisamuḷāladāyaka

Walt 3187 The Sambuddha was named Phussa,

the Great Master of Everything.

The Seclusion-Lover, Wise One,

came into my presence back then . Verse 1

Walt 3188 Bringing pleasure to my heart in

him, the Victor, Great Compassion,

taking lotus roots and stems, I

gave them to the Best of Buddhas. Verse 2

Walt 3189 In the ninety-two aeons since

I gave that lotus-root back then,

I’ve come to know no bad rebirth:

that’s the fruit of lotus-root gifts. Verse 3

Walt 3190 The four analytical modes,

and these eight deliverances,

six special knowledges mastered,

I have done what the Buddha taught! Verse 4

Thus indeed Venerable Bhisamuḷāladāyaka Thera spoke these verses.

The legend of Bhisamuḷāladāyaka Thera is finished.
