– GREAT CHAPTER
4.9
BJT 783"Having come up from the pit of excrement, who are you, standing there so pitifully? Surely you are one whose deeds were evil and corrupt — why do you cry out?"
BJT 784"Venerable sir, I am a female hungry ghost, condemned and banished, belonging to the Yama realm. Having performed evil kamma, from here I passed on to the world of hungry ghosts."
BJT 785"Then what evil deed was done — by body, by speech, or by mind? As the fruit of what kamma have you come to experience this suffering?"
BJT 786"The monk who resided at my lodging was envious and harbored miserliness toward the family of donors. Attached to my lodging, he became stingy and given to abuse.
BJT 787Having listened to his words, I abused the monks. As the fruit of that kamma, from here I passed on to the world of hungry ghosts."
BJT 788"The one who frequented your family's home with the appearance of a friend, yet was no true friend — at the breakup of the body, to what realm did that one of poor wisdom go after death?"
BJT 789"I stand at the head, at the very top, of that same one whose deeds were evil and corrupt, and that one has arrived at another domain, serving as my own attendant.
BJT 790Venerable sir, whatever others discharge — that is my food. And then, whatever I discharge — that one lives on that."
The story of the Excrement-Eating Female Hungry Ghost is the ninth.
