28. The Miscellaneous Section on Buddhas:

Inda-bh 1Immeasurable aeons ago, there were four Guides: Taṇhaṅkara, Medhaṅkara, together with Saraṇaṅkara, and the Perfectly Enlightened One Dīpaṅkara. Those Victorious Ones belonged to one and the same aeon.

Inda-bh 2After (the Buddha) Dīpaṅkara, there was a Leader named Koṇḍañña. Alone within a single aeon, he helped many beings to cross over.

Inda-bh 3The number of aeons in the interval between these two — the Blessed One Dīpaṅkara and the Teacher Koṇḍañña — cannot be counted by any method of calculation.

Inda-bh 4After (the Buddha) Koṇḍañña, there was a Leader named Maṅgala. The number of aeons in the interval between these two also cannot be counted by any method of calculation.

Inda-bh 5Maṅgala, Sumana, Revata, and the Sage Sobhita — those Buddhas, those Ones with Vision, those Luminous Ones — also belonged to one aeon.

Inda-bh 6After (the Buddha) Sobhita was the greatly renowned Anomadassī. The number of aeons in the interval between those two also cannot be counted by any method of calculation.

Inda-bh 7Anomadassī, Paduma, and likewise the Leader Nārada — those Buddhas, those Dispellers of Darkness, those Sages — also belonged to one aeon.

Inda-bh 8After (the Buddha) Nārada, there was a Leader named Padumuttara. Arising alone within a single aeon, he helped many beings to cross over.

Inda-bh 9The number of aeons in the interval between those two — the Blessed One Nārada and the Teacher Padumuttara — also cannot be counted by any method of calculation.

Inda-bh 10One hundred thousand aeons ago there was a Great Sage, the Knower of the World Padumuttara, who was the recipient of offerings.

Inda-bh 11Thirty thousand aeons after (the Buddha) Padumuttara, there were two Guides: Sumedha and Sujāta.

Inda-bh 12One thousand eight hundred aeons ago, after (the time of the Buddha) Sujāta, there were three Guides — the Leaders Piyadassī, Atthadassī, and Dhammadassī — who were Perfectly Enlightened Ones, Supreme Persons.

Inda-bh 13Ninety-four aeons ago, there was a Great Sage. He was the Knower of the World Siddhattha, profound and unsurpassed.

Inda-bh 14Ninety-two aeons ago, there were two Guides. Tissa and the Perfectly Enlightened One Phussa were without equal, without rival.

Inda-bh 15Ninety-one aeons ago, there was a Leader named Vipassī. That Buddha also was the Compassionate One who liberated beings from bondage.

Inda-bh 16Thirty-one aeons ago, there were two Guides. Sikhī and likewise Vessabhū were without equal, without rival.

Inda-bh 17In this Bhadda aeon there have been three Guides: Kakusandha, Koṇāgamana, and likewise the Leader Kassapa. Now I am the Perfectly Enlightened One, and there will also be Metteyya.

Inda-bh 18All five of these Buddhas were wise and were ones who had compassion for the world. Having shown to countless koṭis of others that Path of these Dhamma-Kings, they attained Nirvana together with their disciples.
