4.219.. Lack of Conscience

TTC 1 —Mendicants, someone who possesses these four qualities is placed in hell as if delivered there. What four?

They are faithless, unethical, shameless, and imprudent.

Mendicants, someone who possesses these four qualities is placed in hell as if delivered there.

TTC 2 Mendicants, someone who possesses these four qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there. What four?

They are faithful, ethical, conscientious, and prudent.

Mendicants, someone who possesses these four qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there.

This discourse collection was translated from Pali into Vietnamese by Venerable Thích Minh Châu in 1976–1977 and published by Vạn Hạnh Buddhist Institute, Saigon, in 1980–1981. As part of the Vietnamese Buddhist Canon translation and publication program, the collection was revised into 4 volumes and reprinted in 1996 as volumes 21, 22, 23, and 24.
