4.142. Radiance

—Bhikkhus, there are these four kinds of radiance. What four?

The radiance of the moon, the radiance of the sun, the radiance of fire, and the radiance of wisdom.

Bhikkhus, these are the four kinds of radiance. And of these four kinds of radiance, the supreme radiance is the radiance of wisdom.

This collection was translated from the Pali Canon into Vietnamese by Venerable Thích Minh Châu in 1976–1977 and published by Vạn Hạnh Buddhist Institute, Saigon, in 1980–1981. As part of the translation and publication program for the Vietnamese Tripiṭaka, the collection was revised into 4 volumes and republished in 1996 as volumes 21, 22, 23, and 24.
