Exposition of Toh 2534 — Tengyur Śāstra Collection
Context
Toh 2534 is contained in the Tengyur, the Northern Transmission canon, in the Śāstra section of the Mahāyāna Buddhist tradition. The Tengyur is a collection of commentaries and treatises by Indian and Tibetan Buddhist scholars, compiled and transcribed in order to explain the profound meaning of the scriptures of the Kangyur.
The Northern Tibetan Mahāyāna tradition emphasizes the bodhisattva path and the development of wisdom (Prajñāpāramitā) in order to liberate all beings. The treatises in the Tengyur are regarded as guiding lights that help practitioners understand more clearly the practice and theory of the Mahāyāna.
Although the original title of Toh 2534 has not been fully translated, based on its place and context within the Śāstra collection, this work belongs to one of the central subjects of the Mahāyāna: the theory of bodhisattva conduct (Bodhisattva-caryā), Buddha-nature, or the fundamental principles of the bodhisattva path.
Main Content
Works in the Tengyur Śāstra collection often present profound philosophical questions concerning the nature of mind, the nature of reality (dharmatā), and methods of cultivation for attaining awakening. According to the Northern Tibetan tradition, especially the Gelug school, these treatises are analyzed through logical reasoning (pramāṇa), and the stages of the Dharma are built systematically.
Toh 2534 may focus on one of the following themes: (1) the constituent factors of bodhisattva conduct, from boundless compassion (mahākaruṇā) to entering the bodhisattva bhūmis; (2) the relationship between a pure mind (śuddha-citta) and the completion of merit; or (3) the teaching on self and selflessness (ātman-nairātmya) from the Mahāyāna perspective.
🌏 The Buddhist canon is vast — some sūtras (such as comparative Vinaya across schools, or untranslated Tibetan-canon texts) have to this day NEVER been translated into Vietnamese or English by anyone, scholars included. Rather than leave it blank, Inti AI offers a FAITHFUL summary grounded in the tradition — from the sūtra's title, origin and essence — so you can still reach this rare part of the treasury. Whenever an original translation exists, the app shows the original first.
