般若波羅蜜多心經

When Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva was practicing the profound Prajnaparamita, he illuminated and saw that the five skandhas are all empty, and crossed beyond all suffering and distress.

"Shariputra! Form is not different from emptiness; emptiness is not different from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are also like this.

Shariputra! All dharmas have the mark of emptiness: they are not born and do not perish, are not pure and are not defiled, do not increase and do not decrease. Therefore, in emptiness: there is no form, no feeling, perception, formations, or consciousness; no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no form, sound, scent, taste, touch, or dharma; no consciousness of the eye, up to no consciousness of the mind; no ignorance, and also no ending of ignorance, up to no old age and death, and also no ending of old age and death. There is no suffering, accumulation, cessation, or path; no wisdom, and also no attainment.

Because there is no attainment, the Bodhisattva relies on Prajnaparamita and the mind is without obstruction. Because there is no obstruction, there is no fear; one leaves far behind inverted dream-thinking, and reaches Ultimate Nirvana.

All Buddhas of the three times rely on Prajnaparamita and therefore attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi. Know that Prajnaparamita is the great spiritual mantra, the great bright mantra, the unsurpassed mantra, the unequaled mantra. It can remove all suffering; it is true and not false.

Therefore the Heart Mantra of Prajnaparamita has been proclaimed."

The mantra is spoken thus:

|| yết đế, yết đế, ba ra yết đế, ba ra tăng yết đế, bồ đề, tát bà ha. ||

|| gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā ||
