If one attains thus the understanding of others' minds
Neither arising nor ceasing, never retreating

One then attains the Buddhas' stroking of the head
One then can transform and manifest within the Dharma of emptiness
Thus transforming and manifesting within empty space
According to place, according to abode, ever firm and steadfast
If one attains, according to place, the firm steadfastness
In the heavens and among humankind, none can compare
So that humans and gods can scarcely measure
Thus one can depart from all such forces
Beyond all measure, departing from words
This is: all forces are non-existent
Thus all forces being non-existent
Hearing the name, beholding the body, are skillful means
Even unto skillful means, it is thus
One can act as a benefactor for the world
Again named the Unfailing Great Hero
Sparing nothing in compassion, one speaks the wondrous Dharma
For those in evil destinies, one transforms the multitude of beings
Expounding the Jewel-Light, the supreme vehicle
Like the Vajra, a cloud of jewels gathered
The Buddha-nature is like the great vast ocean
Neither increasing nor decreasing, neither harmed nor destroyed
Boundless merit and virtue are likewise so
There is never a time without the hearing of the Dharma
From the Buddha it manifests, bringing awakening
Beholding it is like a great treasury of the Dharma
This can teach the Dharma, departing from delusion
The world-realms of the ten directions are without hindrance
Like the light of the moon, illumining all
Teaching and transforming sentient beings with a thousand skillful means
Kṣaṇa after kṣaṇa, the Buddha awakens
One then beholds the world-realms of the ten directions
Ever turning the Dharma-wheel, aiding the world
Valiantly transforming throughout the ten directions
Again the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas
Boundless transformations, the Buddha's adornment
Again passing through inconceivable kalpas
Causing sentient beings to come and go and hear
If there be men and women, boys and girls
Gods, humans, asuras, dragon-kings, and the rest
Yakṣas, even unto Mahoragas
For the sake of liberating wisdom, all can behold
If within the world there are many kinds
According to their speech, all becomes alike
All who are valiant clearly behold
Thus the valiant ones all observe
The Ocean-Seal samādhi arises from the mouth
Having thus attained the Ocean-Seal, the host of samādhis
How fine, how inconceivable, time after time
Adorned beyond thought, in but a kṣaṇa
One makes offerings to the Tathāgatas of the ten directions
Having thus made offerings of many kinds
One again attains radiance adorning the body
If one attains the inconceivable radiance
One then attains boundless wisdom of liberation
If one attains boundless wisdom of liberation
One attains the inconceivable transforming body
If one attains such a transforming body
The mouth and the wisdom are both eloquent
If one attains the mouth and wisdom without hindrance
Generosity and transformation, inconceivable
If one attains generosity, inconceivable
Discipline, patience, and vigor are likewise so
If one attains discipline, patience, and vigor
The divine concentration and divine transformation, beyond measure
If one attains the Divine Concentration and divine penetrating transformations
One gives birth to the wisdom of skillful means and divine transformation
Having attained the wisdom of skillful means and divine transformation
One gives birth to a great many merits and virtues
From the Buddha's mouth arises Samādhi
The Samādhi enters into each mote of dust
All the motes of dust are entered into
Within each mote of dust, inconceivable
Each and every mote of dust is clearly seen
Thus the Buddha is within the many motes of dust
Therein each Buddha is clearly perceived
Each and every subtle and pure assembly
Unsurpassed, precious, the wondrous Dharma
Truly far removed, beyond the world
Going beyond the secret, surpassing all
Ever dispelling darkness, emitting radiance
Spreading everywhere without end
If one can behold a single ray of light
Thus all the motes of dust
This sage practices the Samādhi
And straightway, boundlessly, attains liberation
By the power of Samādhi, one makes offerings to the Buddhas
Having made offerings to all the Tathāgatas
Again from the hands one transforms a thousand myriads
Acting as great heroes and making offerings
Even unto the fine and beautiful flowers of the ten directions
Fragrance spreading everywhere, a wholly rare scent
Each and every one of those hands bestows generously
From the root of Bodhi unto the place of the Buddha
Worth a thousand myriads, fragrant garments
The many kinds of banners and jeweled canopies
Jambūnada gold used for adornment
From within those hands one gives in charity
Boundless, all receive and enjoy
Pure offerings to the seers
Whatever is in the hand, all is given in charity
At the place where the Buddha was awakened at the root
Even unto all the kinds of music
Beating drums sounding forth fine notes
All elegant music, flutes and pipes
Each and every one within the hand is complete
Ever praising the World-Honored One
Each and every one extolling the true virtue
Boundless, all throughout the ten directions
Each and every one created from the hands
Or, within the radiance, one fashions Buddhas
On every side, lively in their actions
The fragrant scent floats throughout the Buddha-lands
Offering all the lamps of the world
The beautiful radiance just pleasing to the mind
Lotus pavilions, inconceivable
Lotus blossoms of beautiful hue, beyond count
Each and every one offered to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, fashioning beautiful flowers
Each and every wondrous flower like an ocean
Thus the beautiful flowers all spread everywhere
Widely making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, gathering fragrance
Each and every wondrous ocean of fragrance
Thus the fragrant scents float everywhere
Widely making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, anointing fragrance for offering
Each and every fragrant anointing like a sea of clouds
Thus the fragrant anointings all pervade everywhere
Widely making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, fashioning beauty
Each and every wondrous sea of beautiful clouds
Thus the beautiful tresses all spread out long
Further making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, precious fragrance
Each and every offering of fragrance like an ocean
Thus the fragrant scents all float everywhere
Vastly making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, beautiful garments
Each and every wondrous garment like clouds and water
Thus the beautiful garments all pervade everywhere
Vastly making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, adornments beautiful
Each and every wondrous canopy like a sea of clouds
Thus the beautiful canopies all pervade everywhere
Pervadingly making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, jewels beyond price
Each and every wondrous cloud of jewels appearing
Thus the precious things all pervade everywhere
Widely making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, beautiful lotus blossoms
Many kinds of lotus blossoms numerous as the sea
Thus the many flowers all pervade everywhere
Widely making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance upon the pavilions
Each and every garland numerous as the sea
Thus the garlands transform and pervade everywhere
Widely making offerings to the Buddhas
Emitting great radiance, banners adorning
Those banners blue, yellow, red, and white
Countless beautiful things used for adornment
Banners beautifying the Buddha-lands
Each and every adorned with nets of Maṇi jewels
Banners and jeweled canopies like woven flowers
Here is sent forth what is like the Buddha's voice
One can dwell before the Tathāgata
Suppose one makes offering to a single Buddha
The hands themselves supply beyond all count
Thus even unto all the Buddhas
This mind transforms—the Samādhi
Subduing the world, the wisdom of spiritual penetration
This is the supreme Samādhi
One can perform all the skillful means
Thus delivering and transforming sentient beings
Some make offerings to the Buddhas
Many kinds of generosity, inconceivable
Pure precepts and virtue, cultivating austerities
Inexhaustible patience and endurance, never retreating
Or one can be diligent together with valiant
Peace and joy, divine concentration, wholesomely cultivated
Wisdom realizing all the meanings
Performing all the wholesome skillful means
Or practicing loving-kindness, compassion, and joy and equanimity
Joint endeavor, kind speech, and benefiting others
Through wisdom one amasses the meritorious deeds
Liberation through the four unto the twelve links
Or one has the faculties and powers, understanding what is done
Within the Śrāvaka Vehicle one attains liberation
Contemplating conditions purely, the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle
Spiritual penetration and transformation, the supreme vehicle
Or one beholds impermanence and the afflictions of suffering
There is no body or life at all
There is no affliction to cause obstruction
The power of Samādhi can dissolve them away
For the sake of the world, one is diligent
Proclaiming the wondrous Dharma, delivering the multitude of beings
Praying that all may attain liberation
Guiding sentient beings according to the world
Together with the many forms hard to measure
The spiritual penetration secretly proclaims the Samādhi
Solemnly upholding, joyfully delighting, one can transform
According with intention, leading the world
All made joyful and at peace
Reflect: sentient beings are hard to forsake
If one meets the hungry and thirsty among beings
Each and every one—peace and joy one brings to aid them
All joy then arises from the mind
For the sake of the world one opens it wide and reveals
Ever using fine flavors for food and drink
Each and every one served as from a storehouse
Wealth and goods, as a king, I cast all aside
To all the world I give according to their wish
Preserving the fine and beautiful marks of the body
Lofty and lofty, the great conduct ever unmoving
Anointing the fragrance of flowers within the mind
Manifesting form and feature to deliver the multitude
Beholding all joys, one gives rise to gladness
Lofty wisdom in its many forms and features
Beholding the supreme matter in its many forms and features
According with intention, instructing the world
The Kalaviṅka sends forth its wholesome sound
White cranes and precious birds all sing
Beholding the heavens, sending forth wondrous sounds
Ever expounding the liberating Dharma of the Tathāgata
The eighty-four thousand of the Tathāgata's treasury
All to the utmost can one accomplish
The distinctions of the wondrous Dharma one should also know
According with intention, delivering and transforming sentient beings
Sentient beings in suffering all share the same course
Neither evil nor good, yet sharing the same fruit
Performing all the deeds of action
According with intention, delivering and transforming sentient beings
If one meets calamity giving rise to suffering
Behold this as hard to bear
In place of sentient beings, one takes on the sufferings
To bring peace and joy to all the world
If the Dharma either exists or does not exist
Without wisdom, without merit, there is no liberation
Like a king who is compared, together extolling
Saving sentient beings from suffering, departing from birth and death
One can depart from craving and the multitude that binds fast
The mind is called the world's lord of liberation
All who desire joy to the utmost should transcend
Far removed, in liberation the radiance shines
Again one emits ten other kinds of radiance
One can act as a sage for the sake of skillful means
All that the Holy Ones do, one clearly knows
Contemplating the world, transforming according with intention
Sentient beings are likewise of Immeasurable Life
Surely at peace and joyful
Birth, aging, sickness, and suffering cannot reach them
Resolutely they themselves behold impermanence passing
Thus sentient beings delight in the radiance
The world, deluded and dim, is like a lamp's light
Aging, sickness, death, and suffering are all amassed
The world guides the multitude of sentient beings
In the ten directions, diligent in the four fearlessnesses
The Tathāgata's eighteen exclusive dharmas
I reflect at length upon the great merit and virtue
For the sake of the world I perform the Buddha's work
Like the magical arts of the world
Which can manifest many kinds of differing forms and features
Beholding all the Buddhas' transformations and the rest
Thus the spiritual transformations guide all kinds
I, for the sake of skillful means, perform many kinds
Wholesome words and parables for sentient beings
Like the lotus blossom unstained by mud
According with intention, creating many distinctions
Beautiful flowers of benefit, much extolled
Dancing and singing, the outward marks
Pavilions adorned, dancing in flowing motion
Like a garden manifesting features unlike one another
Or becoming a merchant in the rural villages
An elder buying goods, arriving from the city
Together with the great ministers and envoy-soldiers
Many kinds of medicines and treatises and treatise-masters
Or in the open fields a great tree
Precious gems and fine medicines beyond measure
The wish-fulfilling Maṇi made beautiful
For those who have lost the way, one becomes a guide
Even unto the future, being born into the world
Sentient beings know not the karma they themselves create
Managing farming and all skillful means
The world's trades and crafts of many kinds
Or manifesting wrath without tenderness
To bring peace and joy to all sentient beings
Clear and bright, the discourses of the differing dharmas
That Buddha opens the path of radiance
If those supreme deeds the Buddha has performed
In the heavens and among humankind, all attain liberation
If one leaves home to cultivate austerities
Opening and revealing the supreme all-wisdom
If there be heretics who also leave home
Ever keeping silence like the Buddha
Amid the dust unmoved, with the marks of a Śramaṇa
And themselves can rely upon the Buddha's teaching
Or can ever uphold and cast off the Dharma-body
Or grasp at existence, grasp at non-existence
Long-haired, long-bearded, with the marks of a youth
And themselves rely upon their root teacher
Or there are deeds done in five fashions through the day
The dog-vow, the ox-vow, garments of deerskin
Coming and going three times to make offerings
And themselves rely upon their root teacher
Or one can delight in the wisdom of the devas
Neither wholesome nor evil, abandoning cause
Seeking the source and origin of food and drink
Grasping at fine flavors, hard to understand the Dharma
Or sitting still in places of red garments
Or blackening the body, or lying upon grass
Holding a staff that bears a name, also cultivating practice
And themselves rely upon their root teacher
Even unto each and every one of those heretics
All are caused to depart from their bonds
They make wisdom and austerities aplenty
Thus the heretics are all guided
The world's every kind is all taught and transformed
Wrong views causing error in the root and the spirit
For their sake, with skillful means, one proclaims the wondrous Dharma
Teaching this true Dharma, bidding them practice
Or speaking the Mahāyāna in true and direct words
The secret essentials of the true Dharma in fine and beautiful words
Or upon the right path speaking true words
Therein sometimes speaking subtle phrases
Or through the written word one attains liberation
The collected Dharma's meaning, the phrases of the Vajra
Wisdom destroying the words of the heretics
Treatises of many kinds, words of liberation
Or among humankind speaking spirit-mantras
Proclaiming all the fine and beautiful phrases
Therein again there are the words of the Buddhas
The dragon-kings and yakṣas also have their speech
Or like the rākṣasas who have much to say
Yakṣas, Kumbhāṇḍas, Gandharvas
The kinnara women who can dance and sing
Expounding the wondrous Dharma's meaning of liberation
For the sake of wisdom they speak the Dharma
Whether Buddha or Dharma, it is likewise so
The path of wisdom is the inconceivable Dharma
Speaking this transforming Samādhi
Clearly explaining the world's Samādhi
Causing all the world
To either emit radiance, inconceivable
The radiance illumines all sentient beings
Or emit radiance named Wondrous Contemplation
Even unto sentient beings who through this gain faith
They attain realization of the Dharma not closely examined
Unsurpassed Wisdom and the Unsurpassed Person
They attain sight of the Buddhas and hearing of the Dharma
Or they behold the Saṅgha possessing merit and virtue
Beholding the stūpa, praising the Buddha as truly rare
And beholding the pure and bright radiance
Or one emits radiance named Universal Illumination
Illumining throughout all the world
Each and every mote of dust is all known
For the sake of bringing peace and joy to the world
That radiance then illumines the world
Ever using bright lamps to make offerings to the Buddhas
After making offerings of bright lamps
The world becomes the lord of that radiance
Or it may be a lamp-wick or lamp-oil
Wood and grass and refuse together with that lamp
Fragrance wafting sweetly, lamps of treasure
All the radiance makes offerings to the Buddhas
Again one emits radiance named Universal Illumination
All can observe the sentient beings
Craving and saṃsāra, the sea of birth and death
For the sake of rescuing the sentient beings
The radiance shines into the saṃsāra of craving
All bring benefit and joy to the multitude of sentient beings
All attain departure from the four kinds of māra
Suffering and oppression are turned to peace and joy
Making the beautiful ones not few in number
Or upon rivers and waters making boats and rafts
Pretending to scold and revile, the praise extinguished
The radiance there illumines to the very end
Far removed from craving, it aids with benefit and joy
Teaching the Dharma and transforming the path is likewise so
One is bathed by the Buddha with the sweet-dew water
To save the world from hunger and thirst as well
Or making pools and ponds or wells of water
Distorting, fabricating, one accomplishes awakening
Portion by portion of craving and desire, extolling and praising concentration
All craving and desire is dissolved away
Pitying sentient beings, one emits radiance
That radiance illumines all the sentient beings
That joy transforms, giving rise to awakening
Thought after thought, the samādhi I shall attain
Adorned with fine marks, seated upon the lotus dais
With great compassion pitying all the sentient beings
Ever and always expounding the Buddha's merit and virtue
Emitting radiance to give rise to gladness
Again one emits radiance named Pleasing the Mind
This radiance can awaken sentient beings
Toward the Buddha and toward the Dharma giving rise to love and reverence
And can rejoice together with the Saṅgha
Realizing the Buddha-Dharma, giving rise to a joyful mind
And can again await the Saṅgha
Straightway paying homage to the Tathāgata's holy merit and virtue
Thus attaining what the Buddha did, hard to do
Meeting the Tathāgatas and all the wholesome dharmas
Attaining the supreme conduct of patient endurance
Awakening many kinds of sentient beings
Mindful of the Buddha, mindful of the Dharma, the holy merit and virtue
Each and every merit, the mind awakening
Causing radiance as one requests
Again one emits radiance into merit and virtue
This radiance can awaken sentient beings
Giving away in charity countless many kinds
Exhorting toward the unsurpassed great Bodhi
What is sought, as one wishes, is all fulfilled
Thus many kinds of things one can give
All, according with intention, are given away
Amassing that merit, one emits radiance
Thus this wisdom emits radiance
That radiance illumines the sentient beings
A single Dharma, spoken by the mouth, is never exhausted
Benefiting and proclaiming, one can observe
The Dharma-wisdom subdues the sentient beings
Wisdom can lay it all bare
Having proclaimed the lofty meaning of the wondrous Dharma
The wisdom then emits a great radiance
If one attains wisdom emitting radiance
That radiance can illumine the sentient beings
Sentient beings are not non-existent, without arising and ceasing
The self-nature of all dharmas is no-nature
Like an illusion, like dew, like the moon upon water
Like a dream, again like a reflection in a mirror
The Dharma has no lord, resting upon emptiness
Ever practicing, it gives birth to the lamp of wisdom
The power of the Dharma transforms and emits radiance
That radiance awakens the sentient beings
Who attains the inexhaustible dhāraṇī
Guarding the Tathāgatas' wholesome Dharma-treasury
Having cultivated the dhāraṇī of the wondrous Dharma
The Great Sage ever upholds and protects all the dharmas
Proclaiming this Dharma for the sake of the world
One then makes that Dharma emit radiance
Or casting off much, one emits radiance
That radiance can awaken the sentient beings
Impermanent, not lasting long—know peace and joy
Thus far removed, all attain realization
If the sentient beings find the self hard to subdue
Let them know the self-nature is like floating clouds
Knowing this, the bright wisdom then is at peace and ease
This is generosity emitting radiance
Again one emits radiance named Repentance
Illumining every place of the sentient beings
Having purely repented through the precepts of moral discipline
The mind departs from illusion and delusion, and shall become Buddha
If the sentient beings, through upholding the precepts
Their present karma dissolved, give rise to purity
Equal to the giving rise of the Bodhi-mind
The radiance reaches forth to the place of repentance
Patient endurance emits radiance for the sake of solemn adornment
That radiance illumines all the sentient beings
The angry mind, utterly evil, the intent hard to tame
First of all, the matter of patience dispels it entirely
One's own karma is hard to do; patient endurance and the rest
In the mind that is unmoved—that is Bodhi
Ever praising the matter of patient endurance
This is patient endurance acting as adornment
Again one emits radiance, brighter and clearer
Illumining the indolence of the sentient beings
The Three Jewels, supreme and wondrous, the many skillful means
Continuing on long, one can make offerings
The Three Jewels in many kinds, the many skillful means
Having continually, by skillful means, made offerings
One can then depart from the four evil māras
One then attains the unsurpassed great Bodhi
Teaching sentient beings to practice with vigor
Thus having made offerings to the Three Jewels
Ever upholding the wondrous Dharma, heedless of the time
The wholesome radiance, indeed, shall be attained at once
Again one emits radiance, making patient endurance
Universally delivering and awakening the sentient beings
Awakening, they depart from greed, hatred, and delusion
Attaining a mind of equanimity, without interruption
Therefore the deeds of karma are all dissolved away
Far removed from all that is unwholesome
Extolling and praising the matter of meditative concentration
Patient endurance, pure, emits radiance
Wisdom solemnly adorns and emits radiance
Ever pointing out their delusion to the sentient beings
If one speaks the true Dharma, one attains liberation
Ever realizing and entering the wisdom of the faculties
If one hears the true Dharma, one attains liberation
Having transformed back and forth the very source
One then attains the sun of Samādhi
Attaining the radiance of the Buddha-wisdom
The king possesses, and again can give
For the sake of seeking the wondrous Dharma in awakening
One can then ever speak the wondrous Dharma
The radiance of wisdom becomes the adornment
If the Buddha emits this radiance
That radiance illumines all the sentient beings
Countless, hard to comprehend, a thousand Tathāgatas
Appear seated thereon, upon the beautiful lotus
The Great Awakened Tathāgata, liberating the self
Boundless transformations speaking the Buddha's words
Becoming Buddha-Tathāgatas, illumining strongly forth
One then attains the shining of this radiance
Again one emits radiance, bestowing fearlessness
Toward the much-terrified sentient beings
Seeking to pass beyond their bondage
Thus the terrified ones, those in distress
And the sentient beings attain peace and ease
One can then depart from killing and harm
Saving the karma, that which is hard to save
Attaining great fearlessness, one emits radiance
Again one emits radiance named Peace and Joy
Causing the sickness and suffering swiftly to dissolve away
All maladies are treated and healed
The peace and joy of meditative concentration, the Samādhi
Many kinds of medicines together with flowers and fruits
Fragrance precious and rare, the scent of treasures
Fragrant water, drops of honey, and sesame oil
Food and drink as offerings, all in abundance
Beholding the Tathāgatas emitting radiance
Illumining to behold the sentient beings at the time of life's end
Pointing them to mindfulness of the Buddha, they at once behold the Buddha
At life's end, they are surely born in the Buddha-land
When life has ended, if one is mindful of the Buddha
Beholding the Buddha-images, faith arises
The Buddha, for the sake of rebirth, delivers and saves
One attains sight of the Buddhas expounding the Dharma
Again one emits radiance named Dharma-Light
This radiance can awaken the sentient beings
Hearing the Dharma, printing and reciting the sūtras
Ever attaining love and delight in the dharmas
Opening the wondrous Dharma, truly beyond measure
Exhorting and seeking the wondrous Dharma, the intent complete
For the sake of the skillful means that protect this Dharma
Therefore, teaching the Dharma, one attains radiance
Again one emits radiance named Speech
The Buddha-sons awaken those sentient beings
The original vow resounds throughout the three-thousandfold realms
Hearing the Tathāgatas' many words
Loudly extolling the Great Holy Ones
A great and lofty voice like the sound of a bell
For the sake of the sentient beings, the Buddha's speech
Therefore one realizes the radiance of speech
Again one emits radiance, bestowing sweet dew
That radiance can awaken the sentient beings
Knowing when the sentient beings give rise to the mind
All merits and virtues are mutually responsive
Those countless sufferings and calamities
Ever empty and false, never at peace and ease
If one can halt all the calamities and disasters
Speaking the Dharma of sweet dew, all is then attained
Again one emits radiance named Supreme Victory
This radiance can awaken the sentient beings
The supreme precepts—these are the Samādhi
Hearing the Buddha's supreme great wisdom
Beyond measure, the pure precepts, the Samādhi
Wisdom foremost, the one of great capacity
Extolling and praising, bestowing awakening
They shall realize this radiance
For the sake of utterly exhausting the precious Dharma-jewel
This Dharma makes offerings to the Greatly Awakened
Thus making offerings to the Buddhas and the stūpas of the Buddhas
Sentient beings seeking the good, that it not decay
Giving all the precious things to become Buddhas
Thus, therefore, one emits the jeweled adornment
Again one emits radiance, Shining-Toward-the-Wondrous
This radiance awakens the sentient beings
The pleasing fragrance, smelled, is never foul
That makes the merit and virtue of the Tathāgata
In the heavens and among humankind, all give off fragrance
Used to make offerings to the Buddhas
Making offerings to the many stūpas of the Buddhas without end
Therefore one emits this radiance.
